Project 401 cypher isnt just a circle. Its a pressure cooker with respect built in it. We drop the floor in the middle of the crowd no barricades, no seperation.
Project 401 cyphers are calculated. With Mr FaCce being our Elder he design them so that everyone leaves with something tangible a move, a memory, a connection, not for the camera for the soul. By the end, crowd isnt watching anymore. They are part of it. That’s the goal.

Project 401 is a Hip Hop institution rooted in Rhode Island and built on 16 years of calculated moves for the culture & dance community.
Founded by Jose “FaCce” Maldonado, Project 401 began as a response to the need for authentic spaces in New England breakin’ and has grown into a movement. We create major events, workshops, and cyphers that honor the foundations while pushing new concepts designed to challenge dancers physically, mentally, and spiritually.
As an original artist from the 1st P.I.A.F. Festival, Project 401 has been bringing dance vibes creating raw entertainment to the movement crowd since day one. Our blueprint is simple: culture first. We don’t do basic.
From packed battles to live art, recovery spaces, and Boricua food that feeds the soul, Project 401 represents lineage over trends. Black and Brown reflections. Puerto Rican roots. Urban blueprints for protection of identity, race, creed, and culture.
