Experience West Coast Swing with First on the Floor & Northeast Swing Classic! Enjoy social dancing, performances by Matt & Desirae, and beginner-friendly teaser lessons throughout the afternoon. Learn a few authentic West Coast Swing basics, practice with our community, then jump into the social dancing! No partner or experience is needed. Whether you dance for five minutes or stay all afternoon, we’ll help you discover your next step into Rhode Island and New England’s growing swing dance community.
Bio
First on the Floor and Northeast Swing Classic are working together to grow West Coast Swing and social partner dancing in Rhode Island and throughout New England. First on the Floor is a Rhode Island-based dance community creating accessible opportunities to learn and experience West Coast Swing through weekly classes, social dances, outdoor events, and special programming featuring instructors from across the region. Northeast Swing Classic brings that community together on a larger stage with an annual destination dance weekend featuring West Coast Swing and Country Swing workshops, competitions, social dancing, and world-class performances.
Together, the two organizations share a mission of making partner dancing welcoming, social, and accessible. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or stepping onto the dance floor for the very first time, you will always have a friend to dance with!
