Ode 2 a Prov Kid

An Ode to a Prov Kid is an art installation and gathering space made up of bits and pieces of the experience of growing up in PROV. A section of Biltmore Park becomes a place shaped by familiar memories, images, objects, and references to everyday life in the city. Through a photo installation and other elements drawn from local culture, the work brings together things that may feel instantly familiar to some and completely new to others.
Bio
YLSANITA is a Providence-based multidisciplinary artist working across documentary photography, installation, digital media, and fabrication. Raised within the embrace of a Dominican and Guyanese immigrant family, their practice is rooted in preservation—collecting the images, objects, memories, and everyday visual language that shape Black and Brown life in Providence. Across photography, digital media, and emerging installation work, they are interested in creating spaces where personal memory and neighborhood history can be seen, shared, and preserved.
