With the help of PVDFest patrons (YOU!), Grover will construct a LEGO (c) mosaic depicting a beautiful Providence scene. Drop on by, grab a handful of LEGO bricks, and help a wild flash art piece unfold!

LEGO flash build with Andrew Grover will be building a LEGO model LIVE over the course of Saturday afternoon. Stop by periodically to see the progress and take some pics! He’ll also needed a little help from time to time!
Andrew Grover creates models of Rhode Island buildings out of LEGO (c). His work is often described as fun, whimsical, and engaging, but it also seeks to ask serious questions as to why we cherish some structures and not others. Why are the historic columns and edifices of private schools revered while similar public buildings are considered ‘relic’ and slated for the wrecking ball? Why are homes in some neighborhoods considered stately while similar structures in a different neighborhood considered blight? Is it to de-value them in order to make them easier to gentrify? Grover’s work seeks to explore to what extent class effects our sense of which structures are important and which are worthless.
