Saturday, September 19 |
4:20PM - 5:20PM
Butch T. has released new music and would love to perform it in the City of Providence where Capital Records sent our manager Brian Pinella to find us. Now this show is to rediscover myself and reignite the City of Providence with my new release Maybe Just For Love. This show is to join the City of Providence together in harmony despite the Brown University tragedy.
R&B Legend | The Signature Falsetto of Tavares
Butch Tavares is a celebrated vocalist and founding member of the iconic R&B group Tavares, whose timeless sound helped define an era of soul, funk, and classic rhythm & blues. Known for their smooth harmonies and crossover appeal, Tavares rose to international fame with a string of hits that continue to resonate across generations.
Widely regarded as the group’s falsetto specialist, Butch’s voice is a standout—an effortlessly smooth tenor that ascends into a rich, unmistakable falsetto. Within a group known for having multiple lead vocalists, Butch was often called upon when a song demanded emotional lift, vocal precision, and that signature high-end brilliance.
Tavares’ success includes chart-topping singles such as “Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel,” “Whodunit,” “More Than a Woman,” “A Penny for Your Thoughts,” and “Words and Music.” Their music seamlessly bridged soul, disco, and pop, earning them a lasting place in music history. “More Than a Woman” was also featured on the Grammy Award-winning Saturday Night Fever soundtrack—one of the best-selling albums of all time.
With a career spanning decades, Butch Tavares continues to captivate audiences with his smooth delivery, timeless voice, and undeniable stage presence. Whether performing classic hits or connecting with fans through live experiences, he brings authenticity, elegance, and soul to every performance. Today, Butch remains a vital force in live entertainment, bringing the legacy of Tavares to stages across the country while continuing to celebrate the music that defined a generation.
