The Black Marketplace

Bringing Love & Black American Culture to our city no matter where we are is our form of PROTEST!!!
As a lifelong Providence resident of Providence, I saw an opportunity to create community an commerce by bringing together businesses that respect and enjoy Black American Culture. We curate a space that is family friendly, welcoming and giving! We believe in the POWER of BLACK LOVE AND JOY. By setting up our pop up markets throughout the city, we bring that sense of family to any space we occupy.

The Black Marketplace RI is a group of local artists, vendors and organizations that represent the Black and Brown Community in RI. In partnership with Juneteenth RI , our Marketplaces are designed to welcome everyone to experience the Joy and Pride of our cultural experience as Black Rhode Islanders.
In 2021, a few small business vendors decided to create a space where Black and Brown vendors were not just accepted but appreciated and celebrated. We found that many growing small businesses were excited about this idea. This started The Black Marketplace RI. Since then, we have been able to use various spaces throughout the state to pop up Black Marketplaces and have worked with 200+ Vendors and agencies.
Our Marketplaces have now become a touchpoint in the community that families and customers look forward to all year around.
