PVDFest kicks off Juneteenth weekend with a ribbon cutting and free celebration unveiling locally-designed All Black Lives Matter Street Mural in the heart of downtown Providence. Official ribbon cutting and short speaking program will begin at 4:00pm.
Local artists and community members have worked together over the past year to co-design and install the new original mural. The street mural, which features design work by Abenda Sohn, Ayeel Schofield, Sarah Samways, Vessna Scheff, k. funmilayo aileru, Rodney Davis and Nafis M. The All Black Lives Matter Street Mural is made possible with support from PVDFest, City of Providence Department of Art, Culture + Tourism, College Unbound and Rhode Island School of Design.
