Tru Forté is a first-generation American-Caribbean artist and MC born in Harlem, New York, and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. Beginning his creative journey as a singer, he found his voice through poetry before evolving into a lyricist driven by storytelling, introspection, and purpose.
Inspired by artists like Jay-Z, Kanye West, Yasiin Bey (Mos Def), Method Man, and Lupe Fiasco, Tru’s music blends classic boom bap foundations with melodic vocals, honest songwriting, and unconventional production.
Rooted in themes of resilience, community, self-awareness, and the realities of everyday life, Tru crafts music that speaks to shared struggles while encouraging growth and reflection. His goal is to create records that connect his listeners through honesty, perspective, and lived experience.
He’s currently completing his debut LP, ‘Same Situation, Different Day’, scheduled for release in Fall 2026.
