This year we are trying something totally different for PVDFest’s Parade(s).

Instead of one large parade, we will have several small pop-up processions within the festival footprint, and a larger participatory parade with NO VEHICLES that will wind down Washington Street to Kennedy Plaza.

Our first pop-up will begin after the 2:00PM Zumba class held at the corner of Union and Washington. Join Tufts Health Plan and PVDFest drummers for a procession to Burnside Park.

Our second pop-up will be just for the kiddos. It will convene beginning at 4:00PM at the Westminster St. side of the URI Dr. Pat Feinstein Child Development Center and depart at 4:30PM for Brendan’s Beach in Burnside Park.

Our third more robust participatory parade will feature the extraordinary costume designer Machine Dazzle, as well as costume workshop participants, and marching bands, as well as any interested participants but NO VEHICLES. It will muster between Westminster and Washington Streets beginning at 4:00 PM with a departure time of 5:00PM.

Want to participate in a parade or procession? Just show up at the right time!
