Artists of PVDFEST

As PVDFest 2019, we are looking to fill the following positions:


Production Manager

Production Manager responsible for:

  • Managing setlists for artists performing in PVDFest
  • Show initiative, flexibility, and good humor
  • Working with various production companies on behalf of local, regional and international artists
  • Managing and creating production schedules for performers, while balancing audio concerns of multiple stages at once
  • Working with ACT and public safety to ensure that all festival parts are adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Overseeing all festival related rentals including; tables and chairs, portapotties, and golf carts
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of a comprehensive trash plan

Artisan and Craft Vendor Manager

The Vending Manager is responsible for:

  • Curating a vendor market on June 8th
  • Curating a vendor market on June 9th
  • Meeting projected budget line for vending revenue
  • Creating an “Open Call to Vendors”
  • Meeting press and marketing deadlines in March
  • Partnering with the PVDFest marketing team for maximum visibility.
  • Developing or using an existing website or interacting with the current PVDFest website to collect vendor submissions.
  • Responding to vending submissions quickly and politely
  • Developing and sharing a clear logistical vendors in and vendors out plan
  • Working with the PVDFest Ops & Comms. teams to create clear information packages for vendors.

Social Media Intern

PVDFest is looking for a social media marketing intern to join our team. We are looking for a talented and artistic individual to create and maintain a strong online presence through various social media platforms.

 

  • Analyze current social media trends
  • Create and post content and images related to and about PVDFest
  • Develop an optimal posting schedule for lead up and week of the festival.
  • Oversee various social media platform accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
  • Develop new ways to attract prospective engagements
  • Work closely with the PVDFest Communications and Marketing Associate, the PVDFest Team, the Art, Culture + Tourism office and the City of Providence communications team

Merch Sales Associate

Merch Sales Associate responsible for/must have:

  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Proficient in verbal and written English language – bilingual a plus
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, write and effectively communicate with customers, peers and management
  • Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision
  • Physical demands: This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching and climbing small ladders
  • Customer service focus
  • Enthusiastic, friendly and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service
  • Available to work in a fast-paced, festival environment

Food Village Production Assistant

The Food Village Production Assistant is responsible for/must have:

  • Good understanding of customer service practices
  • Proficient in verbal and written English language – bilingual a plus
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, write and effectively communicate with vendors, peers and management
  • Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to vendors and remaining flexible to the needs of the festival
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision
  • Physical demands: This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing and standing for consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling and crouching
  • Customer service focus
  • Enthusiastic, friendly and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service
  • Available to work in a fast-paced, festival environment alongside public safety officials

 Zero Waste Coordinator

The Zero Waste Coordinator is responsible for/must have:

  •  Showing initiative, flexibility and good humor
  • Attend 2-3 planning meetings between May  and June
  • Develop Zero Waste volunteer management plan
  • Design and execute Zero Waste Volunteer trainings as necessary
  • Manage volunteers during the festival
  • Coordinate day-of logistics related to waste reduction efforts
  • Support marketing and promotion efforts surround zero waste goals
  • Develop a system for evaluating success of zero waste efforts and produce post-festival evaluation report

Volunteers Coordinator

Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for/must have:

    • Taking initiative, embracing flexibility and demonstrating good humor
    • Attending 3-4 planning meetings between May and June, and 2-3 info sessions TBD
    • Helping develop and implement a volunteer recruitment plan
    • Managing volunteers and assigning them tasks during the festival
    • Coordinating day-of logistics related to volunteers
    • Ensuring fluid communication with festival staff
    • Showing a respectful and amicable attitude towards all people involved with the festival
    • Keeping an accurate record of volunteers who participated in PVDFest
    • Holding open hours with volunteers before and after PVDfest
    • Assisting with setup and breakdown of PVDfest
    • Responding to communications before and during the event, including e-mail, telephone, etc,
